About

The Tyler Boshae Foundation was founded by family, friends, and co-workers of Tyler Boshae to raise funds to bring relief to his endless suffering of Tourette Syndrome. Tour ette’s  is described as a neurological disorder which results in physical movements and vocal sounds beyond a persons control. For Ty, his case is demonstrated by severe uncontrollable “tics” causing extreme physical pain, and self injury.

Tyler was diagnosed with Tourette’s at age nine. His condition was initially managed by medication, which partially reduced his symptoms and allowed him to go to school even though his only means of coping with his disorder was by laying face down on a padded mat and listening to his teachers. Over the years his symptoms have severely worsened. He has exhausted all effective medications, and is now in desperate need of a surgical procedure called “Deep Brain Stimulation”. This surgery utilizes the implantation of electrodes connected to a device that can be programed to interrupt the misfiring brain signals.

This website is dedicated to raising funds to help Tyler obtain this life changing surgery. He needs your prayers and financial assistance to bring relief to his daily suffering. His medical team has graciously reduced their fees to make this dream within the grasp of reality. We still need to raise $200,000.00 to provide the transportation, hospital, physicians, and follow up care necessary to give Tyler his life back.

We are scheduling a number of fund raising events to help make this a reality. Thanks to The Community Hospital Foundation, you can donate online to help in Ty’s surgery and recovery. Tyler is hoping to have completed his surgery and aftercare in time for his wedding in September. Please make donations through Community Hospital Foundation at http://www.communitymed.org/ and click on the “Make a Donation” link.
